A matter of privacy

In the previous pulse, I refrained from expressing any kind of strong opinion about the “Maiden bursaries” because I felt that it wasn’t my place to discount a woman’s decision and ultimately, deny her education.

Today, after some thought and input from women who add value to our global society, I’ve come to understand a little bit of the long term effects of this short term “fix”. What kind of future are we agreeing to when we tie sexual activity with education? Is it healthy to indoctrinate an entire population with the idea that their sexuality is a barrier to their education? Is this violation of privacy to be endured by beneficiaries or by their relatives and peers as well?

Change is inevitable but sometimes you have to stand like a rock. – http://wp.me/p59JYA-4o
